Join local and park astronomers for the second annual Star Party in Mesa Verde National Park! Enjoy the wonders of the night sky at the Morefield Campground Amphitheater on Saturday, September 16th, from 8:00 pm – 10:00 pm. Plan to arrive by 7:45 pm to park and set up your seats.
We’ll get a look at Saturn’s surreal 3D rings, and a myriad of Milky Way glittering treasures under the pristine, dark skies of Mesa Verde. Highlights will include constellation identification, multicultural sky stories, and stunning telescope views of the many beautiful heavenly objects adorning the late summer and early fall night sky.
Things to Know:
• Dress warmly
• Bring a camp chair
• No dogs, please
• Bring a flashlight, and binoculars if you have them
• Red lights ONLY after dark. (We can provide red covers for your flashlights.)
• Morefield Campground is located four miles into the park. Turn into the campground and follow the road about 1.5 miles to the amphitheater parking lot.
